Seasonal Garden Centre Assistant
(March–June / peak season – flexible hours)
We are looking for reliable, friendly seasonal staff to join our busy, family-run garden centre during our peak spring and summer season.
This is a hands-on role involving customer service, plant care, stock handling, and general day-to-day tasks across the garden centre. You’ll be working as part of a small team in a fast-paced outdoor retail environment.
This role suits someone who enjoys practical work, dealing with customers, and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up when it’s busy.
Previous garden centre or retail experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided.
Job Criteria (What We’re Looking For)
Essential
Reliable and punctual
Willing to work weekends and busy peak days
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Physically able to lift, move, and handle plants, compost, and stock
Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
Able to follow instructions and work independently once shown
Desirable (but not essential)
Interest in gardening, plants, or outdoor work
Customer service or retail experience
Previous garden centre, nursery, or farm work
Ability to talk confidently with customers
Key ResponsibilitieS
Assisting customers with plant and product queries
Watering, tidying, and maintaining plant displays
Restocking shelves and outdoor areas
Handling deliveries and moving stock
General housekeeping to keep the centre clean and presentable
Supporting the team during busy periods

Hours & Contract
Seasonal position (spring/summer peak)
Part-time and full-time hours available
Weekend work required
