These terms apply to your use of the Glenavy Garden Centre website and to any order you place with us online. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Ordering

  • When you place an order, you will receive an email acknowledging it. This does not mean your order has been accepted.
  • Your order is accepted, and a contract formed between us, when we email to confirm dispatch or that your order is ready for collection.
  • We may decline an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if we cannot deliver to your address, or if there is an error in the price or description. If we decline after taking payment, we will refund you in full.

3. Prices and payment

  • All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.
  • Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Payment is taken in full when you place your order. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card details.
  • If we discover an obvious pricing error after you order, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

4. Plants and product descriptions

  • Plants are living things and vary naturally. Size, shape, flowering stage and colour may differ slightly from photographs and descriptions, which are a guide only.
  • Heights and pot sizes are approximate and measured at the time of listing.
  • If a plant you ordered is unavailable, we may offer a similar substitute of equal or greater value. We will contact you first, and you can choose a full refund for that item instead.
  • Care advice on our website or given by our staff is general guidance. Results depend on your growing conditions.
  • Some plants are harmful if eaten or can irritate skin. Please check labels and take care around children and pets.

5. Delivery and collection

  • Plants are available for local delivery only, within 20 miles of the garden centre in Glenavy, or for collection from the garden centre. If your address is outside our delivery area, plants in your order will be available for collection only, and we will contact you before dispatch.
  • Other items (such as gifts, tools and garden sundries) can be delivered to addresses across the UK.
  • Free delivery on orders over £100. Orders under £100 are charged the delivery rate shown at checkout.
  • We will give you an estimated delivery date when your order is confirmed. Delivery dates are estimates, and we will let you know if there is a delay.
  • Because plants are perishable, please make sure someone is available to receive your order, or tell us a safe place to leave it. We are not responsible for plants damaged after being left at a safe place you have chosen.
  • Please check your order on arrival and tell us about any damage or missing items as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours.
  • If you choose to collect, we will email you when your order is ready. Please collect within 7 days, or let us know if you need longer.

6. Ownership and risk

Goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to you or to someone you nominate, or once you collect them. Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full.

7. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Your rights to cancel and return items, including our rules on plants and other perishable goods, are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Our liability

  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
  • We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for problems caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather or courier disruption.
  • We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your legal rights as a consumer.

9. Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers can be used in store and online, cannot be exchanged for cash, and do not expire.

10. Using our website

  • The content of this website, including text, photographs and logos, belongs to Glenavy Garden Centre or our suppliers. Please do not copy or reuse it without our permission.
  • We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
  • Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

11. Your personal information

We use your personal information only as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You may bring proceedings in the courts of Northern Ireland, or, if you live elsewhere in the UK, in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
